Sourdough
In this class you’ll learn the basics of sourdough. We’ll go over starter maintenance, mixing, shaping and baking techniques. We’ll produce a traditional sourdough loaf as well as a 100% rye loaf. We’ll discuss baker’s math, what it means, and how to develop your own formula. You’ll get to take home two loaves of bread to enjoy!
Baking Club
Join our Baking Club for a six-month journey of culinary discovery and community. Each month, led by our Test Baker Tom, you’ll dive into the art and science of baking—exploring the nuances of different flours, sharing cherished recipes, and discussing the techniques behind every bake. This club is all about growing together as bakers and friends. Welcome to a space filled with creativity, delicious aromas, and the joy of making something from scratch.
Pizza Party
Dive into the world of pizza doughs and explore the magic of different flours perfect for pizza making at home. Learn the basics of hand stretching dough, topping, and loading into a hearth oven. In this class you can expect to stretch and bake pre-shaped pizza rounds, for which we can supply sauce and cheese, bring any other toppings you wish! While we bake and eat pizza we will also go through the mixing and shaping of dough rounds which we will pack and send home for you to bake another day.
Pasta Drop
Experience the art of pasta making at our drop-in day at the test bakery! For an hour, you’ll have exclusive access to our state-of-the-art pasta extruder. In this time you will create up to 10 pounds of fresh pasta in any shape or using your preferred flour or flour blend. Once your pasta is ready, package it to take home—whether you’d like to enjoy it fresh, dry it out, or freeze it for later. It’s a hands-on opportunity to explore pasta crafting, experiment with diverse ingredients, and bring a taste of your creativity into your kitchen without the clean-up. Join us and discover the joy of pasta made your way!
